Selinsgrove Center is located in a nice rural location just outside the Borough of Selinsgrove only minutes from town, Selinsgrove Area Schools, and Susquehanna University.


As a Food Service Worker 1, you perform a variety of food service, food preparation, and sanitation tasks. Assignments occur in the production, serving, sanitation, meal delivery, and food storage components of the department and other ancillary areas. You will prepare simple foods and beverages, both hot and cold, for special events, camps, picnics, bag lunches, and other food orders. You will portion food items according to individual tray tags, and load trays onto racks and carts. You will clean and sanitize your work area as well as equipment, floors and dishes. Additionally, you will unload skids and properly label and store food items.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Rotating schedule, with every third weekend off.

  • Overtime will be required as needed.

  • Free parking.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • No previous experience and training required.

    Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
