The role of a Social Service Aide serves as an essential bridge connecting Caseworkers with families in need, facilitating support and resources that can transform lives.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Social Services Aide 3 plays a crucial role in supporting families by collaborating closely with professional staff to facilitate case management activities. Responsibilities encompass conducting home visits, providing transportation support, participating in meetings, and performing continuous safety evaluations and assessments. Additionally, the position involves offering guidance in parenting and budgeting, coaching during visits, assisting with home organization, and engaging in problem-solving and conflict resolution. Effective teamwork and communication with other service providers are essential, along with meticulous documentation of all activities related to the case. The SSA3 is also tasked with maintaining contact logs and generating reports in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • After hours work will be required as necessary.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a County Social Services Aide 2;or

  • Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and three years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information;or

  • An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences, and one year of experience in a human services agency;or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
