THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of this role, you will be responsible for executing the duties of a Project Coordinator. Your main tasks will involve overseeing and organizing the work of junior engineers involved in the planning, creation, and implementation of flood protection initiatives. These projects may involve a mix of permanent hydraulic structures like levees, open channels, culverts, dams, energy dissipaters, debris basins, and other related components.

The primary aim of these endeavors is to generate detailed contract plans and specifications that align with the project's goals in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. By supervising the team of engineers and ensuring that all aspects of the project are coordinated effectively, you will play a crucial role in the successful completion of flood protection projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

  • Occasional travel for conferences, trainings, and off-site meetings.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In office days are Tuesday and Thursday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of professional civil engineering experience which includes three years in the appropriate specialty and one year of experience in directing the work of civil engineers.

    Special Requirement:

  • Possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

    Condition of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.
