The Department of General Services (DGS) is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated person with the required experience to work as a Building Automation Systems Technician 1. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Building Automation Systems Technician 1, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, calibrations, repairs, replacement, and installation of mechanical, DDC (Direct Digital Control), electronic, electrical, and pneumatic components of the automated building control systems within DGS owned or managed facilities. Work is performed independently and may include assisting a higher-level trades person or supervisor with more complex assignments. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Essential employee - required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the HVAC and Building Automation Technician Trainee (commonwealth title) training program;or

  • Three years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC, refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems which includes one year working with industrial or commercial electronic controls and sensors;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year working with industrial or commercial electronic controls and sensors.

    Special Requirement:

  • You must possess an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent.

    Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the use & functionality of BA System Software.

  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, and materials involved in the repair, operation, and maintenance of equipment controlled by BA systems.

  • Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving BA system and device malfunctions and failures.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
