THE POSITION

The Department of Transportation is on the lookout for an Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EIB) Assistant to work alongside the Director of Equitable Transportation and the EIB Program Manager. This role involves implementing department-wide initiatives and programs dedicated to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will take on the responsibility of conducting research and analyzing various programs, including the Climate Survey and Training Surveys, and providing insightful recommendations for senior management's consideration. You will play a key role in developing agenda items and preparing the agenda for all meetings held by the Council on Inclusive Excellence (CIE). Your duties will encompass scheduling and participating in meetings, documenting minutes, creating summary reports that highlight action items, and ensuring that all follow-up actions are executed effectively. Additionally, you will support the Equity and Inclusion Program Specialist by serving as the main point of contact for the Employee Impact Ambassador program and the Inclusive Conversations Certificate program, while also addressing any unresolved issues by escalating them to the Equity Program Manager or the Director of Equitable Transportation. Moreover, you will collect and organize research on topics related to Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EIB) for a department-wide newsletter and educational workshops, disseminating information as instructed. You will assist the Equity and Inclusion Program Specialist in overseeing the newsletter's lifecycle and associated activities, and work collaboratively with the EIB team to update and maintain the intranet page, ensuring it is equipped with up-to-date events, resources, links, and other essential content.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university;or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
