THE POSITION

Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is searching for an independent, detail-oriented person that is ready to take on a challenging and multi-faceted position. As an Administrative Assistant 1 you will have the opportunity to complete a variety of complex duties to support our daily operations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will be supporting the H.S.A Administrator, Deputy Administrator, Integrated Service Specialist, and the county housing staff, while providing a high standard of care and service to Wayne County consumers. Work includes clerical duties including answering phones, greeting visitors, record-keeping, data entry, as well as typing and drafting documents. This position requires an extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office and e-mail. You will have the opportunity to assist with grant and fiscal reporting along with the homeless management information system (H.M.I.S). for housing programs. Additional responsibilities include, but may not be limited to maintaining the waiting area and office inventory, processing outgoing mail, copying, faxing, and shredding, as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university;or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
