Westchester Jewish Community Services Medicaid Benefits Specialist in Peekskill, New York
Overview:
WJCS is currently seeking a full-time Medicaid Benefits Specialist to join our team in Peekskill, NY. Reporting to the Admitting Director, this role is involved in the processing of intakes and referrals for prospective clients with Medicaid government health plans and/or agencies seeking mental health services at WJCS. The compensation for this hybrid position is $46,000.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain expertise in Medicaid eligibility, certification and billing criteria.
Verify/obtain benefits and pre-certification information from insurance companies.
Register new client’s information into the electronic system.
Enter/adjust client’s Medicaid and government health plan benefits which includes recertification and updates to managed care plan.
Troubleshoot across multiple systems for insurance updates.
Work closely with our finance/billing team to resolve benefits discrepancies.
Other duties as assigned.
If you have the following:
Associate’s or a Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field is preferred. An applicant with experience and a High School Diploma will be considered.
Strong knowledge of administrative processes with mental health or health care settings.
Proficient knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing policies including online Epace Medicaid eligibility system.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus!
Ability to navigate through insurance provider portals for benefits and eligibility.
