SOS International LLC Project Manager / Exercise Planner in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
Overview
SOS International, LLC (SOSi) is seeking an experienced professional for a dual role as a Project Manager and Exercise Planner in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining a dynamic network environment. This position entails designing network infrastructure for customer services, providing secret enclave access and services globally, and managing project management aspects of various exercises. The role supports our customer’s mission and its extensive customer base across the Pacific Theater, requiring innovative solutions for complex technical problems and effective coordination of critical C2 strategies.
Essential Job Duties
The Customer supports a significant number of military exercises throughout the Pacific Theater. The Project Manager / Exercise Planner will have relevant experience in the project management life cycle and will thrive in a fast-paced team environment working directly with customers to develop technical solutions that anticipate and meet customer needs. As a member of the team, you will participate in technical exchanges, engineering project initiation meetings, planning conferences, and facilitate the development of team solutions using current services. The Project Manager / Exercise Planner will work directly with network engineers, system administrators, government program managers, and other customers and stakeholders, to develop technical solutions for project requirements.
The candidate should be well-versed in Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures, and regulations. The position is expected to regularly interact with senior DoD personnel, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to prepare and deliver exercise briefings and IPRs to interested parties as required.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead and manage the project management life cycle, focusing on the delivery of technical solutions that support the customer’s mission across the Pacific Theater.
Develop and maintain both project and exercise plans, ensuring clear communication of milestones, risks, and achievements across varying classification levels.
Conduct regular project meetings, technical discussions, and briefings with customers, executive management, and stakeholders.
Interface with team members to provide program status updates via Weekly Activity Reports (WAR).
Ensure military exercises align with strategic goals by overseeing detailed planning and coordination of exercises, including resource alignment, technical validation, and operational readiness.
Perform service audits, document findings, and ensure after-action reports are effectively implemented.
Manage overlapping exercise requirements throughout the Pacific Theater, participating in the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) .
Develop exercise project plans and work packages for exercise milestones, communicating accomplishments, events, issues, and risks.
Lead teams through the Exercise Planning Life Cycle , coordinating participation in planning conferences and facilitating solutions that leverage current services.
Participate in and lead After-Action Reviews (AARs) in post-exercise, reviewing exercise support and deliverables.
Ensure military exercises align with strategic goals by overseeing detailed planning and coordination of exercises, including resource alignment, technical validation, and operational readiness.
Facilitate coordination between multiple stakeholders and government agencies to ensure technical solutions meet exercise requirements.
Assess and validate exercise requirements during joint and combined training events, tabletop exercises, and senior leader seminars.
Minimum Requirements
Active in-scope Top Secret DoD security clearance with SCI Eligibility and US Passport.
Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent years of experience) AND a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
CompTIA Project + certification, or equivalent.
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Experience providing oversight of large, multi-functional project teams, preferably in an IT environment.
Experience in Project Management Life Cycle and Exercise Planning Life Cycle , preferably within the Pacific Theater.
Detailed understanding of ITIL change, configuration, and release management processes.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to elicit, translate, and document system specifications and designs from network engineers and system administrators.
Knowledgeable in multiple current technology areas, including client and server computer hardware and operating systems, end-user desktop software, remote management, IAVA process, and end-user device security management and patching.
Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills.
Ability to manage complex, multi-functional project teams and work under tight budget and time constraints.
An IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP)
Preferred Qualifications
ITIL Foundations
Experience with the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) .
Work Environment
Normal office environment, with fast-paced, deadline-oriented expectations.
May require periods of non-traditional working hours, including consecutive nights or weekends.
Foreign travel and site visits will be required.
