Aftermarket Sales Specialist

Direct Hire Opportunity!

Salary: $70k/yr. plus commission

Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Location: Peapack, NJ

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial candidate that will provide critical support for the customers by identifying necessary parts to resolve issues with our complex equipment in the field. The Aftermarket Salesperson will be required to build rapport with the customers and to promote sales of aftermarket parts and kits as appropriate to provide the highest quality customer service.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work with customer to provide assistance in part replacement by diagnosing the client’s problem and sell replacement parts to solve the problem via phone, fax, e-mail

  • Read mechanical drawings to determine the correct replacement part numbers

  • Discuss the use and features of various parts based on knowledge of our equipment

  • Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available

  • Provide quotation with accurate price and delivery

  • Initiate effective written correspondence to customers, send information packets as needed and interface with corporate, field sales and other resources to coordinate special requests (field visit, seminars)

  • Self-prospecting, participate in outbound calls

  • Expedite customer orders once placed

  • Prepare commercial documents for international orders

  • Purchase non-stock replacement parts

  • Maintain customer job files

  • Promote sales of aftermarket parts and services through email and/or telemarketing campaigns in various markets

  • Perform order entry and other computer/office functions

  • Performs other duties as required by the department

    Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Desire to be a part of an entrepreneurial, energetic team and handle a wide range of responsibilities

  • Two or more years’ experience in an aftermarket sales environment

  • Be able to explain function of parts in relationship to use on our equipment

  • Possess good mechanical skills and be proficient at reading mechanical drawings

  • Engineering or construction background and be able to read CAD drawings or blueprints; technically inclined

  • Be familiar with machinery and equipment, pumps, motors, transmission parts, gear reducers

  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems

  • Highly organized and able to work within rigid time constraints with a superb attention to detail

  • Experience with manufacturing processes, parts expediting and factory environments
