Educational Service District 123 Executive Director of Special Services in Pasco, Washington
Division: Special Services Reports To: Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services Classification: 1.0 FTE (Certificated/Exempt) Salary Range: Starting $143,611.65 - $161,636.18
SUMMARY: The Executive Director of Special Services is a senior leadership position responsible for the development and implementation of district-level, state, and federal special education programs within the ESD 123 region. This role collaborates with local school district leadership to design, implement, and monitor effective, research-based programs and strategies for students with disabilities and at-risk students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide strategic department leadership including the development and monitoring of department and program goals, performance measurement and continuous improvement plans.
- Provide leadership in the development of new programs, initiatives, and enterprises through grants, cooperatives, partnerships, and other ventures that are aligned with the agency's missions and regional needs.
- Lead and assist school districts in implementing high-quality programs and strategies for special education students.
- Develop and manage the ESD 123 Special Education Consortium.
- Prepare and manage contracts with districts and agencies as needed.
- Ensure all departments maintain all subject level policies and procedures that align with agency and applicable laws and regulations.
- Lead and participate in a variety of professional development and meetings with district leaders and agency staff both regionally, statewide, and nationally.
- Lead annual program expansion and monitor data to ensure implementation success and sustainability.
- Represent all programs at the executive team level.
- Respond to changing needs of regional districts and partnerships to better support students, customers, families etc.
- Oversee the preparation, revision, and monitoring of budgets within established timelines.
- Complete all necessary and required applications for state and federal grants or other funding for ESD 123 and regional school districts.
- Provide oversight and assistance to department Directors in monitoring and evaluating program operations, strategies, compliance, and results. Including, but not limited to providing training, coaching and recommendations as needed to enhance services and outcomes.
- Collaborate with other ESD 123 departments to develop cohesive programs that support school district initiatives.
- Select and develop professional learning opportunities for special education constituents.
- Align Moving All to Success & Health (MASH) services with district special education programs to support students with severe behavior and mental health needs.
- Provide assistance and support to Candy Mountain Academy including but not limited to collaborating with program administrators to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to students with special needs.
