Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding Training Manager (1914)- Pascagoula in Pascagoula, Mississippi

This is a Training Manager position with a company in Pascagoula, MS.

Summary: A Training Manager is responsible for directing the daily activities of the Training Center and instructors in meeting the pre-employment, craft and upgrade testing needs for both BMS and BMR.

  Also, the manager will work closely with production management in assisting in the implementation, scheduling, coordination and record keeping of various on-site training programs to meet the facility's needs.

Responsibilities: Directs the daily activities of the Training Center and training staff in meeting facility training and testing needs. Assists in the development of training outlines and instructional methods. Oversees trainee safety throughout the duration of training by enforcing policy and procedure compliance. Evaluates project progress and success.

 Maintains training records, course attendees, etc. Assists in the preparation of training materials.

 Oversees the scheduling and coordination of training sessions and scheduling of pre-employment and upgrade craft tests for both BMR & BMS.

 Confers with supervision to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training for employees to better understand changes, new requirements and /or upgrades in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies. Recognizes the potential for and develops higher skills from within the existing workforce. Coordinates schedules of training instructors and on-the-job training within the training department. Tracks training and development progress. Assists in maintain training and training center's budgets. Must follow all Company policies and procedures, including those relative to employee safety, environmental policy, and the principles of our quality system. Other duties assigned or requested by Management. Works overtime as required.

Requirements: Has good basic knowledge of shipbuilding crafts. Considerable knowledge of effective training methods and ability to handle groups of people. Considerable knowledge of ISO 9001 related training requirements and ability to implement planned training activities.

  Familiar with safety requirements of a shipyard. Good Communication skills, including written and oral communication. Knowledge of basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
