POSITION: Service Center Manager

WORKSITE: 1910 Jasmine Drive, Pasadena, Texas, 77503, United States

JOB DUTIES: Create, promote, and present a solid commitment from management on safe work practices, environmental work practices, Sulzer’s ISO System, and quality procedures. Take part in accident investigation and present senior management with safety and/or environmental issues and solutions. Provide support and resources to reduce work hazards and accidents. Ensure divisional management has the resources to carry out Sulzer’s environmental policy. Manage shop warrantees and on-time deliveries within budgeted levels. Evaluate and propose technological requirements. Manage capital expenditures timely execution and budget performance. Work with division managers to evaluate capital synergies across divisional lines. Work with Operations Managers and Sales Department on developing and executing the strategy for key projects. Work with senior management to evaluate competitiveness of the division. Evaluate opportunities for gains in market share or entry into a new market. Participate in pricing and estimating of larger projects. Interface with customers and Sales Department on deliveries, warranties and other high-profile projects as needed. Account for the profit and loss of multiple departments. Develop and present yearly budgets. Report deficiencies in sales and margin performance compared to budget. Keep costs in line with sales and margin results. Provide biannual “State of the Division” report, annual overview of divisional performance and forward-looking advice, monthly forecasts, and monthly department status updates. Provide divisional management with guidance on tooling and fixture expense strategy. Evaluate divisional finances, identify trends, and establish KPI’s that will point to any issues or problems in the financial health of the divisions. Maintain a challenging and positive work environment that promotes good morale and the hiring, training, development, and retention of the best and brightest personnel in the industry. Promote Continuous Improvement including the innovation of processes, the acquisition of leading-edge technology, and the evaluation of processes and facilities to offer better service and response to our customer base. Oversee the hiring requirements and the hiring, promotion, and termination of salaried employees. Work to resolve conflicts across divisional lines. Conduct annual performance reviews of direct reports. Develop and submit the Operation Division yearly salary forecast and annual salary adjustments to Senior Management for approval.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Management.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Five (5) years of experience as Electrical Engineer, Service Center Operations Leader, or Supervisor.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The five (5) years of experience as Service Center Operations Leader or Supervisor, Electrical Engineer, or Project Manager must have been for the repair of electrical components of large, industrial equipment, including turbomachinery, generators, motors, and pumps. Two (2) of the five years of required experience must have involved supervision of operations for the repair of electrical components of large, industrial equipment, including turbomachinery, generators, motors, and pumps.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 25% domestic travel required.
