Job Summary
Langan is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Natural Resources to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key role with due diligence assessments and permitting (Federal, State, and local) for a variety of land development projects, including mixed-use projects, renewable energy projects, warehouse distribution centers, and linear construction utility projects across the tri-state area, potentially including other regions of the United States. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams and be a part of a growing team supporting projects nationwide.
Job Responsibilities
Manage various field work investigations including, but not limited to: wetland delineation, habitat assessments, biological surveys, and tree surveys;
Manage, train, and assist junior staff with various field and report preparation tasks;
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including civil design engineers, environmental consulting professionals, geotechnical engineers, and digital solutions professionals;
Report and proposal writing;
Develop new clients for the firm and maintain relationships with existing clients;
Track staff time, project budgets and project billings; and
Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or similar area of study (advanced degree in one of these fields a plus);
A minimum of 10 years of related natural resources permitting and land development experience;
Knowledge of local city, county and NJ state land use processes and regulations;
Demonstrated experience with permitting utility and infrastructure projects;
Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies;
Participation in professional organizations;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
Position requires work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends; and
Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
