About the role:

We’re seeking an experienced leader and workshop manager to join the team at Parkhurst, QLD.

As Business Unit Manager for our Electrical & Electronics teams, you’ll be responsible for 2 direct and up to 35 indirect reports over two busy bays in our workshop.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, your primary focus is to provide strong and supportive leadership to the business whilst delivering on our commitments to our customers.

You’ll work closely with our on-site project management, engineering, sales, & supply teams, ensuring the efficient operation of the electrical and electronic departments, whilst exceeding our customer’s expectations and commercial requirements.

Key deliverables:

  • Managing manufacturing performance against the operations budget

  • Directly leading a team responsible for quality quoting, estimating & planning

  • Accountability for financial metrics & business goals

  • Managing risk, safety, workforce & productivity

  • Mentoring, training & developing workshop personnel

  • Contribution to business strategy and manufacturing & process improvement

    Requirements:

  • Electrical trade or degree qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years heavy manufacturing experience in a hazardous environment

  • Strong business acumen

  • Underground mining equipment experience (desirable)

  • Minimum 5 years people management & leadership experience

  • Planning, scheduling & budgeting experience.

  • Strong computer skills, MS Office & MRP. SAP desirable.
