Microsoft Corporation HR Consulting Team Manager, Labor Relations in Paris, France

We are currently recruiting a people manager for our HR Consulting team in France. The HR Consulting team in France forms part of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and global HR Consulting organisation and is an exciting and evolving team of HR professionals that support managers and employees with a myriad of employee relations matters, scaled forms of work and labor relations management. This opportunity will allow you to be a people manager and leader within the HR Consulting organisation working across a global organization to empower our leaders to contribute to the business transformation.

The role will form part of the France HR leadership team and will partner with business leadership, to ensure a healthy and productive labor relations environment to enable Microsoft's mission of empowering every organisation and individual on the planet, to achieve more.

Responsibilities

People Management

  • Manage a team of 6 -7 with differentiated roles focusing on employee relations, Work's Council / labor relations management and HR projects and programs at a France and EMEA level

Labor Relations

  • Serve as the primary contact for labor relations / Work's Council management in France with people management of two dedicated labour relations team members.

  • Ensure appropriate control, compliance and tracking of open labor relations issues in partnership with the internal legal team, external legal counsel and HR and business stakeholders at the country level

  • Partnership with HR and business stakeholders to implement organisational changes that require labor relations engagements

  • Build constructive and effective relationships with employee representatives and provide insights to business leaders and HR partners on the relationships between the company and employee representatives

Employee Relations

  • Direct the diagnostics and resolution of issues with increasing complexity, visibility and risk related to policy or culture concerns/violations and incident or threat response, independently or by collaborating with peers in HR and the legal teams as appropriate; recommend solutions to address issues from a systematic perspective (e.g., establishing new principles/tools) while prioritizing employee experiences to maintain a safe and professional work environment.

  • Oversee and coach the team on their management of employee relations cases received through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for France; assess severity levels of queries where appropriate and determine management approach; share feedback to the senior advisors for queue management system regarding opportunities to solve problems earlier in the funnel, escalation, and process efficiency.

  • Coach team members in their partnership with internal teams, Global Employee Relations (GER) or Business & Regulatory Investigations (BRI) in investigations of serious cases and implement appropriate remediation

  • Interpret trends in employee relations issues; design and recommend interventions and solutions to facilitate an open, inclusive, Microsoft values-based environment that enables effective employee relations for France.

HR Solutions Consulting

  • Provide expert consulting services to managers and employees in one or more focus areas related to HR programs, processes, and initiatives, and holds the team accountable for doing the same; represent HR Consulting in the broader HR community; influence the future direction of HR work by synthesizing insights and contributing perspectives, expertise, and leadership.

  • Lead data analytics and organizational health diagnostics by creating analysis plans and leading the collaboration with Human Resources Business Partnership (HRBP); generate and/or present trends and insights on organizational health solutions; recommends action plans to business leaders based on analytics and business/local needs.

Capability Building

  • Identify the appropriate approach and leverages resources to enhance manager capability through coaching with business leaders, or by engaging relevant stakeholders and HR partners in capability building conversations.

  • Lead France in the collaboration with peer disciplines or professions (e.g., Talent Management, Learning and Development), as well as global HR partners, to contribute insights, leverage resources, and provide capability building support for the leadership of France via scalable projects, programs, and/or initiatives (e.g., manager excellence community, manager capability, onboarding, team-building, rewards communication).

HR Project and Programs

  • Partner with Centers of Excellence (COE) on implementing and capitalizing on scalable HR programs and processes (e.g., Rhythm of Business (ROB)/performance and development cycle, management excellence communities, employee movement, ad-hoc projects); manage HR processes for France by reviewing progress and making recommendations on project/program management.

  • Lead the design and implementation of local HR projects or programs

  • Leverage, align, and integrate communication strategies and messages from the COE; guide others in the implementation of communication messages; collaborate with peer disciplines (e.g., HRBP) to gain buy-in on programs and processes from business stakeholders.

Operational Compliance

  • Interpret and advocate Microsoft values and compliance with HR policies for France. Identifiy/raise needs to mitigate potential risks by collaborating with the legal profession; collaborate with peers in other regions, or geographies to share input and drive standardized/scalable approach for enhancing compliance.

  • Lead the localization/update of policies and procedures related to managed projects and programs; establishes partnerships with HR policy owners and relevant stakeholders; may lead efforts to update policies (e.g., benefits-related) in collaboration with peer HR disciplines

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with Human Resources or Business programs/processes

  • OR Bachelor’s Degree AND deeply experienced with Human Resources or Business programs/processes.

  • Labor Relations and Employee Relations experience in a large multinational organisation

  • People management experience within HR

  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)/Society for Human Resources Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).

  • This role requires proficiency in written, reading, and conversational English as all business operations as well as customer communications are conducted in English.
