Actalent Manufacturing Engineer in Pardeeville, Wisconsin

Description:

Responsible for the operational improvements of all aspects of the plant production and process controls. Organize and lead the Continuous Improvement Program to include cost savings projects and administration. Work with management in planning and implementing Quality/Continuous Improvement (QCI) activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develop the most efficient way to employ manpower, machines, materials, information, and energy to manufacture the product or provide a service.

· Develop management control systems and processes to measure productivity.

· Analyze cycle times to improve/increase productivity. Design/improve production planning and control systems and resolve production process problems.

· Study material flow, operations sequence and recommend/implement appropriate changes.

· Evaluate the effects of product design changes.

· Design/improve manufacturing process methods to assure product quality. Assist in setting goals, and planning projects that will meet corporate and plant Quality/CI objectives.

· Oversee the administration of cost savings projects.

· Assist management in maintaining the Plant within environmental and quality performance regulations.

· Participate in financial planning, cost/benefit analysis for building, grounds and plant equipment.

· Continue Quality/CI self-education training, Kaizen and participate in other skill enhancement activities.

· Assure that plant personnel are trained and help develop their Quality/CI skills, problem solving and provide leadership.

· Conduct Quality/CI skill enhancement sessions

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Educational Requirements / Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Industrial Engineering preferred) or related field.

· A minimum of 5 years’ continuous improvement experience with Lean Enterprise

and/or Toyota Production System as demonstrated through collaboration on and

leadership of CI events/projects.

· Possess Quality/CI program certification and/or demonstrate competency.

· Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail to effectively communicate with others.

· Create presentations as necessary.

· Ability to work with a variety of individuals at all levels.

· Perform basic data analyses as required.

· Create charts, templates, flow maps for standards and clear communication of information.

· Excellent Project Management skills. Lead and manage a team to bring closure to projects.

· Systematic and analytical approach to problem solving.

· Proficient with the concepts and tools of Quality Tools and Lean Manufacturing used in Kaizen analysis.

· Proficient with Value Stream Mapping tools.

· Apply lean manufacturing tools and Train plant associates on various lean tools/techniques, as well as become the resource “expert” for lean methodologies.

· Track and report plant improvement progress

· Skilled in statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects.

· Competent in lean principles, including Waste elimination, Pull systems, Kanban, Visual workspace, One Piece Flow, Flow Production, Set-Up
