JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Under the close supervision and direction of the Operations Administrator, a Corrections Supervisor or designee, performs a variety of routine and skilled clerical and administrative tasks related to the admissions, bond, transfer and release processes for Sarpy adult inmates and provides support services to all law enforcement and judicial personnel to ensure efficient operations within the Corrections Center, requiring moderate responsibility and independent judgment.


Preference will be given to current eligible Sarpy County employees.

As an employee of Sarpy County, you receive regular pay for the services you provide at a rate of $24.55 per hour. In addition to your hourly wage, Sarpy County provides benefits, such as insurance and retirement, which are valued at up to $28,445.99 per year.

ADMISSIONS DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Duty Statements

Receive inmate monies, verify amount, enter inmates account, and secure cash.

Complete applicable admission relate-related logs, print documents, and assemble inmate folders.

Contact Communications and other agencies regarding admission information, and contact outside agencies for copies of warrants and bond information.

Provide admission photos to other agencies and the media.

Review NCIC criminal history to classify inmate for housing assignment, enter database and print appropriate paperwork.

Enter inmate data into phone software and obtain PIN number; and activate, deactivate, reactivate, or issue new PIN as necessary.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Duty Statements

Utilize a variety of specialized software programs to accurately enter and retrieve information regarding inmates.

Recor s Management; file documents, breakdown folder, and scan files.

Enter personal, charge, initial medical, monetary, holds, no contact, and miscellaneous information, review documents for accuracy and completeness.

Conduct criminal history, wants and warrants checks on inmates; and verify court applications.

Contact County Attorneys Office for warrants received and log, contact the Child Support Division to obtain purge amount, contactImmigration and Naturalization Service (INS) for possible illegal residents, and contact Offutt Air Force Base (AFB) for military.

Fax copies of out-of-state warrants to Court Services Transport Division and the County Attorneys Office.

Prepare bond paperwork for inmates as necessary; and complete commitment paperwork and return to courts as necessary.

Perform quality control of fingerprint cards.

Enter charge information, reason for release, and miscellaneous information.

Conduct wants and warrants checks on inmates to be released.

Release money to inmates as necessary, and enter checks issued into software.

Complete all logs and paperwork pertaining to release.

Contact courts, medical unit, Corrections Supervisor, Pretrial Services, Victim Witness, and/or other agencies for release requirements and notifications.

Verify bond amount, agency, court date and time, and bond conditions, and complete paperwork.

Process trustees and early releases checking for outdate, holds, and charges; and discuss results with supervisor

SUPPORT SERVICES TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND JUDICIAL PERSONNEL

Duty Statements

Assist arresting officers regarding charges, warrants, National Crime Information Center (NCIC) history, driver abstracts, and statutes applicable to arrest information.

Prepare daily paperwork for court services unit.

CUSTOMER SERVICE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Duty Statements

Promote a positive image ofthe Sarpy County Department of Corrections.

Respond to questions, and assist County employees, the public, other agencies, attorneys, and the media; provide notary services as necessary. Direct inquires to appropriate party as needed.

Greet and process visitors to the facility, and issue locker keys to applicable visitors.

Collect bond money, update ledger/log/software, issue checks/receipts, complete applicable forms, and secure cash; maintain bond receipt books.

Complete monetary transactions for commissary orders and hair cut requests, issue checks, and record information.

MISCELLANEOUS

Duty Statements

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisors, peers, other County employees, law enforcement, attorneys, elected officials, other agencies, and the public.

Keep an incoming account of activities, squad calls, medical transfers, and weather warnings.

Monitor email, and sort mail daily.

Troubleshoot problems with computers, printers, copiers, and scanners; and arrange for equipment maintenance.

Review supply levels and receive supplies for medical.

Update and scan all applicable logs monthly.

Maintain possession of their facility key at all times.
