We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing accounting close for corporate, local accounting close, revenue accounting, tax filings, payroll, accounts payable, administrative functions, balance account reconciliation support, compliance of government/ company policies & requirements

  • Works with business partners to ensure compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures

  • Performs daily accounting and administration activities e.g. (electronic invoice, statutory reporting, local books, cash receipts reconciliation

  • Payroll duties and social tax reporting

  • Other revenue accounting function issuing credit and debit notes

  • Non AP local disbursements accounting (local and corporate)

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Associate degree or 2 years of relevant work experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in similar capacity, including accounting, finance and administrative functions

  • Preparation of accounting books, tax filings, account reconciliation, variance explanations and accounts payable

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel

  • Strong analytical skills, good written and verbal communication

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Panama for any employer without sponsorship

  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience

  • Accountant (CPA equivalent)

  • Airline industry 2 years’ experience

  • 2+years of experience aviation experience
