EyeSouthPartners Ophthalmic Technician II in Panama City, Florida

Company Overview: Eye Center of north Florida was formed in 1999 and is the most established and trusted eye care practices in the Florida panhandle. (ECNF) offers Lipiflow Dry Eye Treatment, Low Vision Rehabilitation, Low Vision Rehabilitation, Optos Retinal Imaging, Macular Degeneration, Genetic Testing- Macula Risk Testing , Drop less Cataract Surgery, Refractive procedures along with cosmetic specialties, contact lenses and an optical shop.

Position Summary: Eye Center of north Florida was formed in 1999 and is the most established and trusted eye care practices in the Florida panhandle. (ECNF) offers Lipiflow Dry Eye Treatment, Low Vision Rehabilitation, Low Vision Rehabilitation, Optos Retinal Imaging, Macular Degeneration, Genetic Testing- Macula Risk Testing, Drop less Cataract Surgery, Refractive procedures along with cosmetic specialties, contact lenses and an optical shop.

Responsibilities: This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Ophthalmic skills include:

  • Obtaining and documenting patient history
  • Determining visual acuity
  • Performing automated and manual refraction for diagnostic purposes
  • Performing basic lensometry
  • Pupillary assessment
  • Visual field testing
  • PAM
  • Basic ocular motility assessment
  • Automated keratometry
  • Osmolarity testing
  • Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
  • Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR, providing patient services
  • Measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry)
  • Pre-operative preparation of patient
  • Maintaining equipment and instruments
  • Perform ocular imaging including OCT,
  • Topography
  • Post-operative education

Qualifications:

3-5 years of ophthalmic technician experience preferred

COA preferred

Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required

Must be flexible with traveling to various locations

Ability to pay attention to detail

Ability to maintain confidentiality

The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable

The ability to recognize inconsistencies

Education/Certifications:

Graduation from an accredited high school
