Applied Research Associates, Inc. Junior Accounting Specialist in Panama City, Florida

Description

ARA is seeking a Junior Accounting Specialist to assist account managers with various accounting functions. Position is full-time and is located in Panama City, Florida.

Job duties include:

  • Performing general accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset reconciliation.

  • Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information.

  • Reviews project activity and reports on variances.

  • Corresponds with other departments to ensure proper accounting for revenue, purchases, and expenses.

  • Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing of policies and procedures.

  • Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Associate's Degree with minimum 5 years of accounting experience or Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 0-2 years of previous accounting experience.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Previous experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices and procedures.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with a considerable amount of judgement and initiative.
