The Hardware Research and Technology Lab at our client is looking for an extremely motivated Research Technician to contribute to their research activities in Additive Manufacturing, Internet of Things, Clean tech, and Healthcare. As a Research Technician you'll be able to support world class research activities and help invent the technologies of the future alongside industry leading researchers. You'll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of industries and with broad spectrum of disciplines to solve complex, challenging scientific problems. Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for characterization through various means including dimensional metrology, microscopy, chemical compositional testing, mechanical properties, or electrical properties

  • Use various analytical instruments to characterize samples

  • Assemble and maintain custom experimental fixtures that have been designed by our client's engineers

  • Maintain equipment purchased from third party vendors

  • Perform SOPs (standard operating procedures) to support scientific experimentation

  • Report data to our client's scientists and engineers

  • Carefully document work


  • Associates Degree and 4 years of industry or research experience or 10 years of industrial engineering or scientific research experience

  • Familiarity with common laboratory equipment

  • Understanding of laboratory safety practices

  • Ability to read manuals for scientific instrumentation and SOPs and operate equipment safely

  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in equipment

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and learn new techniques
