Job Title: Safety Manager
Location: Saint Petersburg & Port Manatee, FL
Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000 per year + Benefits
Job Description:
Summary: The Safety Manager will oversee and manage occupational safety and health programs across two sites, Saint Petersburg and Port Manatee, ensuring compliance with extensive federal and state OSHA regulations and company standards. The role requires strong knowledge of workplace safety practices in heavy industry or manufacturing settings, proficiency in regulatory requirements, and the ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices.
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) inspections and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Assist in incident response activities, including investigations and reporting for injuries, property damage, and vehicular incidents.
Lead and participate in EHS audits, self-assessments, and inspections.
Maintain EHS records and performance tracking in accordance with regulatory and company guidelines.
Develop and deliver Safety and Environmental training programs to ensure compliance and enhance safety standards.
Contribute to emergency preparedness planning and response initiatives.
Provide guidance to management and employees on safety practices and regulatory compliance.
Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications and regulatory reports.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, or related field.
3 to 5 years of direct experience in Workplace Safety within heavy industry or manufacturing.
Knowledge of extensive federal, state, and local occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly OSHA.
Familiarity with incident and accident prevention strategies, protective equipment usage, and fire control measures.
OSHA 608 and OSHA 609 certifications required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Availability to work at both Saint Petersburg and Port Manatee sites.
Willingness to work Monday to Friday from 7 am to 4 pm with a 30-minute lunch break, and Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm with availability for extra hours as needed.
