Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Mission Assurance Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Palmdale, CA . Telecommute/remote is not an option for this position. This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80, Monday-Friday. The manager may be required to work second shift and weekends as needed throughout the year.

The Manager Mission Assurance 3 will have the responsibility of leading a group of managers and the technical and professional staff that reports to them in a high-paced environment , which will include the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing process improvements and increasing project efficiencies.

  • Creating a method of quality standardization across cost centers and research & development contracts

  • Responsible for the project performance planning, risk management, technical quality, cost, schedule, and factory accountability oversight for Mission Assurance statements of work.

  • Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.

  • Collaborates with engineering, test, and manufacturing functions to ensure adherence to design processes and quality standards are in place.

  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is aligned with requirements.

  • Act with agility to business needs and interact in collaborative way to empower diverse, cross functional teams, including both internal and external members to achieve positive business results, including operating decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarification.

  • May specialize in the areas of engineering design evaluation, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree AND 9 years of professional/military experience in in quality engineering, program management, hardware/software engineering, system test, and/or manufacturing. (7+ years of experience with a master's degree)

  • Minimum of 5 years management experience , with strong people leadership skills .

  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance and Program Special Access.

  • Experience with CAM/Earned Value

  • Experience in staffing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess an ACTIVE DoD Top Secret / SCI Clearance with current SAP clearance.

  • Strong orientation to change in a dynamic environment.

  • Sophisticated level of understanding of complex quality policies, procedures, governmental regulations, contracts, DFAR clauses, and workflow.

  • Ability to analyze alternative courses of action where decisions have risk/reward implications for program or area of influence.

  • 3 + years of experience in Mission Assurance, Quality Engineering, Design Assurance, System Test, and/or Program Management

  • Leader in a team environment with exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to be resourceful, well-organized, able to multi-task and coordinate assignments.

  • Proposal experience

  • Experience with technical and project management.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply strong analytical skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline

  • Understanding of DCMA INST 8210

  • Familiarity with Aerospace design standards

  • Familiarity with Software Quality

  • Experience in defining, monitoring, and assessing program performance.

  • General understanding of supplier quality functions

  • Training in advance RCCA

  • Three (3) years' experience of Control Account Management (CAM) on multiple accounts or current CAM certification

  • Experience with contract conformance.

  • Experience in customer interaction and executive leadership interaction.

  • In depth understanding of ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.

  • Experience in staffing, planning, risk management, and technical quality for related Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements.

  • Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.

Salary Range: $164,300 - $246,500

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
