DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Forest Technician, you will provide technical assistance in the field and office within the Spotted Lantern Fly (SLF) regional offices to the Plant Inspection Program Specialists (PIPS) and staff to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. You will conduct tree inventory for host trees of Spotted Lanternfly and ground pest surveys as required. Additionally, your duties will include assisting in direct suppression, biocontrol, trapping, and sampling as required to control Spotted Lanternfly. One of your goals will be to establish field study plots as required by supervisors. Furthermore, you will collect and summarize field data in electronic format, prepare written reports as required, as well as, oversee Forest Insect Pest Aide (FIPA) 1 field staff.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position will continue based on funding. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Palm, Pennsylvania. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

An associate's degree in forest technology; or Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree. Condition of Employment:

This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
