This is a great opportunity to join the Otis Americas Controllers team in the Finance organization. This highly visible role will be tasked with providing broad financial systems support across the Americas’ organization to achieve the company financial and operations goals.

What you’ll do:

Activities will include, but are not limited to:

Systems Management

  • Responsible for the management and oversight of the power user roles assigned to the two instances of JD Edwards (JDE) utilized

  • Coordinate Quarterly JDE System Access Review

  • Understand business requirements (e.g., new reporting requirements, acquisition of a new entity, business reorganization) and manage the related changes in system functionality/configuration

  • Financial Reporting expert for new system implementations; identifying any impacts and supporting testing and roll out

  • Coordinate and assist in any necessary system testing, such as Disaster Recovery and Upgrades

  • Act as the go-between for end-users and the JDE technical teams including communications to the end-users regarding upgrades, outages, and process changes

  • Manage the maintenance of the chart of account and organizational reporting in JDE

  • Provide full user support during month-end close

  • Performing various validation checks during month-end close and communicate errors to the appropriate individuals to research and resolve as timely as possible

  • Liaison with World Headquarters (WHQ) on HFM updates and reporting issues

  • Create and maintain technical administrative documentation

Data Analytics

  • Assist the business in understanding the underlying transactions impacting their financial performance

  • Liaison with cross functional teams to develop appropriate financial metrics to assist in analyzing performance and operational opportunities

  • Provide ad hoc queries to review data, analyze the data, determine requirements, and fix data errors

  • Assist financial reporting team in standardizing reports, assessing completeness and accuracy of reports used

  • Support presentations to management including Quarterly Balance Sheet Reviews and 302 Meetings

    You should have:

  • 5+ Years experience in a related function

  • Successful track record with understanding financial accounting systems including any related interdependencies

  • Intellectual curiosity, with the ability to identify process enhancements or system capabilities that may improve business performance (e.g., automation tools)

  • Demonstrated the ability to meet and exceed expectations and help others drive results

  • Detailed understanding of how financial transactions and associated business metrics are recorded within the system

  • Proven success with communicating effectively across multiple organizational layers and departments

  • The ability to work independently, prioritizing day-to-day work with assigned tasks and issues as they arise

  • Experience in coordinating activities with offshore teams of technical resources

    Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or related field

    Other Requirements:

  • Experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion Financial Planning and Analysis preferred, but not required

  • Experience in an accounting, analysis, financial controls, financial systems or similar role(s)

  • Focus on transformation (i.e., proactive, leading change, being a driver of company initiatives, developing the knowledge/capabilities of others)

  • MS Excel experience, specifically in extracting large data sets from various systems to generate pivot tables and provide meaningful and actionable analysis


Some travel may be required

Location / Work Arrangement:

The position is in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. There is an opportunity for the position to be hybrid (office and remote). The successful candidate must be able to travel/commute to an office, as needed.
