job summary:
A Measurement Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Painted Post, NY area. This role involves independently conducting measurement and characterization of samples using various equipment, planning and arranging testing schedules, compiling data accurately, and improving efficiency under close supervision.

responsibilities:
Learn and measurement techniques on multiple pieces of equipment.
Independently set up and run equipment after training.
Complete characterization of samples as requested.
Apply scientific, mathematical, and statistical techniques to determine dimensions, quantity, or capacity of products or processes.
Plan and arrange schedules and equipment required for testing and evaluating samples.
Compile data and perform data entry in Excel with accuracy.
Requirements:
strong computer skills.
Conduct accurate data entry.
Maintain a good work record (attendance, performance, behavior).
Accountable for meeting objectives and goals.
Follow previously defined procedures.
Refer atypical or complex problems to others.
Work under close site supervision.
Recommend actions to improve efficiency.
Perform duties within prescribed timeframes.
Maintain confidentiality.
Primary contacts are within the immediate work group.
Possess technical curiosity and good organizational and time management skills.
Education:
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree required.
Experience:
- 0-3 years of relevant experience.
