As an IP Paralegal you will join our growing IP team and this position will play a crucial role in all activities needed to secure the Group’s IP rights. You will be a part of the global IP/Legal team providing end-to-end support to the team, supporting all formalities-based activities relating principally to Patents, Trademarks, and other IP matters as needed. This role reports directly to the VP, Global Head of IP and is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and innovative healthcare-focused organization.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting with preparing and filing documents and forms for UK, EP, PCT and US patent and trademark filings, PCT national phase entry, EP validations, and responses to office actions,
Completing all associated docketing in the Group’s IP management tool (Anaqua).
Liaising with attorneys and internal stakeholders cross-functionally and instructing outside counsel at the national/foreign filing stages.
Monitoring all incoming correspondence re IP filings, due dates, and searches, docketing and updating files as appropriate, and liaising with attorneys.
Managing the docket(s) of attorneys, maintaining due dates, monitoring deadlines, generating and preparing reports, preparing data and information for IP portfolio reviews and governance.
Monitoring Patent watch notifications, obtaining cost quotations, cost reporting and invoice handling.
YOUR PROFILE
At least 2+ years’ experience handling IP formalities within either private practice or industry.
Detailed working knowledge of UK, EP, PCT and foreign patent formalities, laws and rules.
Proficient in the use of IP rights management software and docketing tools, external intellectual property databases and search tools, and Microsoft Office programs.
Demonstrated ability to accurately manage and interrogate IP data and conduct research on IP related matters.

Strong interpersonal skills required to work effectively with people at all levels in the firm, clients and vendors.

You must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong proofreading skills.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
