Kelly Services Quality Engineer in Pacific, Missouri

Full time Quality Engineer opportunity in Pacific, MO. Must have a good understanding of manufacturing processes. Three plus years of recent experience required.

$50,000 - $75,000k

SUMMARY:

Conduct specialized quality assurance assignments to develop new methods, new fixture layouts, capability studies, prototype part layouts, gage calibration, subcontracted assembly inspections and/or conduct training sessions to insure care and use of inspection tools and gauging. Conduct life cycle testing and competitive analysis to support Quality Function Deployment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.

  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence.

  • Develops experiments by applying full and fractional factorial techniques.

  • Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.

  • Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.

  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies; maintaining American Society of Quality control certified quality engineer qualification.

  • Conduct studies to determine cause, effect and the corrective measures required to remedy deviations that impair desirable standards of quality.

  • Build and maintain CMM/VMM routines using MCOSMOS and Zone 3 software for Mitutoyo CMM’s and OGP VMM.

  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to resolve problems relative to product designs, specifications, materials, tooling and production operations affecting quality.

  • Work with Quality Inspectors and Technicians to execute in process and incoming receiving inspections.

  • Investigative procedures having to do with customer’s complaints and advise the Sales Department on technical matters relative to such complaints.

  • Assist in the administration of ISO activity and procedures for quality assurance and customer satisfaction. Develop continuous improvements company wide and monitor the process. Oversee the ISO audits, internal and external.

  • Conduct specialized quality assurance assignments to develop new methods, new fixture layouts, capability studies, prototype part layouts, gage calibration, subcontracted assembly inspections and/or conduct training sessions to insure care and use of inspection tools and gauging.

CORE SKILLS:

  • Extensive user knowledge of quality testing protocols.

  • Proven inventory and production planning experience.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem resolution skills with high attention to detail.

  • Manufacturing quality assurance background required.

  • Strong ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) testing results to multiple audiences.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills are required.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Must possess strong administrative, multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work history/training (ASQ Certified Quality Engineer).

  • Requires progressive training and experience in quality assurance and control techniques, product reliability and test laboratory procedures.

  • Experience in ISO Auditing preferred.

  • CMM programming using MCOSMOS preferred.

  • Knowledge of Materials and Material Science as well as statistical application using Minitab software is a plus.
