Responsible for engineering activities associated with life science sensors product line, including continuous improvement, sustaining, technical support and new product development. Works closely with manufacturing and operations to implement process updates and monitor progress. Provides engineering leadership to new product development team. Research, design, and test product prototypes. Use working knowledge of sensor products to solve customer problems when they arise.

  • Sustaining engineering relevant to existing sensor product line; product improvements, process improvements, writes protocols for validation efforts.

  • Use technical knowledge to lead product development effort including hardware design and troubleshooting.

  • Product lifecycle management through drawing and specification updates.

  • Leads new product development team; design, functional specifications, engineering expertise, creates and tests prototypes when necessary.

  • Supports existing business by providing technical information to customers and analyzing customer reported issues.

  • Works cross functionally with other departments to ensure completion of projects and tasks including integration of firmware and software.

  • Work closely with vendors and supply chain on component specific related activities

  • Organizes and tracks projects throughout lifecycles. Updates and informs stakeholders at key milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, or equivalent

  • 6-10 years of job-related experience.

  • Experience with sensor product lines and/or sensor development

  • Experience leading and managing hardware development projects from concept through production

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure.

  • Knowledge of PCB layout and circuit design and analog/digital signal processing

  • Preferred knowledge of biopharmaceutical industry

  • Preferred mechanical design experience with plastics
