Actalent Food Quality Inspector in OXNARD, California

Job Title: Quality Assurance Monitor - Food and Beverage QCJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Monitor to join our food and beverage quality control team. The successful candidate will report to the QA Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality and safety. This role offers a schedule of Monday through Friday, with two shifts available: the first shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, and the second shift from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Complete product evaluations and risk assessments.

  • Perform quality assurance for shipping and receiving processes.

  • Calibrate equipment and conduct pH/brix/color assessments.

  • Adjust and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Conduct audits and ensure compliance with HACCP, CCPs, GMPs, and SQF certifications.

  • Maintain food safety knowledge and practices.

  • Assist with preparing for FDA audits.

  • Document quality control inspections and assessments.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.

  • Work collaboratively in groups and teams to achieve quality standards.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge and experience with HACCP, CCPs, GMPs, and SQF certifications.

  • Proficiency in conducting audits and maintaining food safety standards.

  • Experience with lab procedures and equipment calibration.

  • Ability to perform pH, brix, and color assessments.

  • Strong documentation and quality control skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to coach and teach individuals proper SOP standards.

  • Self-starter with a desire to learn and grow within the company.

  • Strong presence and ability to engage with team members.

  • Personality traits such as proactivity and effective communication are valued highly.

Work Environment

This role operates in a large production and warehouse setting. The work environment requires the ability to move around and engage with different departments and team members to ensure adherence to quality standards. The position offers a long-term opportunity with room for growth, ideally seeking candidates who can commit to a minimum of 2-3 years, with a preference for 5+ years.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $38.00
