Job Description Summary

Program Coordinator responsible for coordinating Honors research programming and advising Honors College students.

Job Description

Essential Duties:

The Program Coordinator is a member of the Honors College's professional staff. In addition to advising a case load of Honors College students, this Program Coordinator will coordinate the Honors College's research programming, including, but not limited to, the Honors Senior Project. The Program Coordinator will connect Honors College students who have strong and committed interests in research and creative work to faculty, programs, and research-related opportunities that are aligned with their interests on and off campus. The Program Coordinator will support Honors College students and their faculty mentors as they develop these significant research, creative, and/or pre-professional projects; track their progress in completing the Honors Senior Project; manage Honors grant funding; and collaborate with key campus partners, such as the University Libraries and Office of Research for Undergraduates, around research-related programming.

Additional duties include (but are not limited to): working with new student and transfer orientation, supporting new advising initiatives, meeting with prospective students, supporting admission events, acting as a resource for faculty and other professional advisors, and serving on committees/working groups. Position affords opportunities for additional project-based contributions and professional development. Other duties as assigned by Executive Director or Associate Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Master's degree in any field, earned by start date; two to four years of full-time professional experience at the college/university level in the fields of academic advising, teaching, and/or research; excellent written and oral communication (including public speaking), organizational, technological, and collaborative skills.

Consideration may be given to candidates with: experience working in honors programs or colleges or with high-ability student populations; work experience with mentoring or coordinating undergraduate research; work experience in teaching and/or mentoring college students; experience working with diverse students, including underrepresented minorities, international, and first-generation students; and understanding the purpose of honors education. Experience with tools such as Banner, uAchieve (degree audits), Student Success Collaborative (Navigate 360), WorkDay, and Oracle Business Intelligence.
