Description
Robert Half has partnered with an established manufacturing company in Oxford, North Carolina to assist them in hiring a Cost Accountant. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelors degree and 5+ years of experience, preferably in manufacturing. The successful candidate will be instrumental in our manufacturing operations, focusing on cost accounting and inventory management. The role also involves providing in-depth financial analysis of business transactions, leading cycle activities, and conducting ad-hoc analysis for the site. You will also contribute to the implementation of actions to improve operations. This company offers full benefits and the ability to work from home one day a week.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive cost analysis to identify potential areas for cost savings and process improvements
• Analyze and reconcile product costs, inventories, total cost of production, and cost of sales
• Support in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cost of production statement
• Review and audit production jobs, bill of materials, material costs and labor rates
• Contribute to the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Aid in forecast and budgeting processes, providing analysis on variances between actual results and forecasts
• Assist both internal and external auditors during financial audits and prepare audit schedules
• Develop financial forecasts and models for strategic decision-making and sensitivity analysis for the site
• Oversee capital expenditure, depreciation, and disposals.
Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Cost Accounting role or similar position
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Demonstrable knowledge of Standard Cost Accounting
• Experience with Inventory Reconciliation
• Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Expertise in calculating Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
• Proven experience in Month End Close procedures
• Ability to conduct Variance Analysis
• Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting
• Proficiency in using Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Strong skills in Excel
