Schedule: Night shift is 7 on 7 off, 11 hours 2030-0730 M-F. Weekends are 11.5 hours Friday to Saturday (2030-0800), 12 hours Saturday to Sunday (2000-0800), and 11.5 hours Sunday to Monday (2000-0730). There is a bonus for working the extra hours on weekends.

Our dedicated team at AdventHealth South Overland Park provides a full suite of medical and emergency services to communities in southern Johnson County. Our team of experts offer 24/7 emergency room services, ICU care, labor and delivery, cardiology care, surgical services, physical, occupational and speech therapy, imaging and more. The state-of-the-art hospital is connected to a medical office building with a full suite of medical services including internal medicine, cardiology, orthopedics, OB/GYN, endocrinology and more. Currently, AH South Overland Park has 50 beds. This includes ER (9), Labor and Delivery (8), NICU (3), and Med Surg (30). There are 4 floors.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Pharmacist is the medication expert, with activities primarily involving the provision of pharmaceutical care to associates, patients and the public. The Clinical Staff Pharmacist performs and/or oversees all accountabilities associated with compounding, dispensing and clinical monitoring of medications for patients.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

· Maintain a broad knowledge base including trouble shooting of Pyxis® and Cerner® information systems

· Appropriately prioritize so that STAT and urgent orders are handled to ensure no unnecessary delays in patient care

· Demonstrate efficient use of time by minimizing the amount of orders put on hold and delegating tasks to students and technicians whenever possible and appropriate.

· Assure that a complete review of patient specific parameters is conducted prior to initiating a new medication.

· Consistently report all medication errors, potential errors and adverse drug reactions using the hospitals reporting mechanism

· Active involvement in training of Pharmacy Practice residents, as evidenced by the Residents thorough knowledge of material at the end of rotation

· Pharmacists are expected to respond to all code strokes and code blues.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Computer skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy

· 1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

· Master’s Degree in Pharmacy

· PharmD

· 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

· Kansas Pharmacy License

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

· Registered Preceptor with Board of Pharmacy

· Board Certification – BCPS, BCPP or BCOP

· ACLS obtained through the American Heart Association (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)

· BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
