Sales Production Mortgage Loans

Develops relationships with local referral sources including real estate contacts, builders, and existing Equity Bank staff in order to originate mortgage loans.

Conducts presentations at branches, real estate offices, homebuyer seminars, or another venue to solicit mortgage business.

Stays informed of trends and developments in the local real estate market.

Has a proven record of originating \$15 million+ annually.

Manages pipeline to ensure service standards and financial goals are met.

Sales Production Bank Products

Refers mortgage loan customers to bank employees for applicable bank products, including deposit products, loan products, and other bank services. Attains minimum of 2 bank product or service referrals per month.

Attensd product training courses as provided by the bank training department as needed to ensure working knowledge of bank products.

Execute Established Customer Experience with Borrowers

Interviews applicants to uncover pertinent information concerning their wants and needs.

Provides qualified solutions to borrowers.

Advises applicants on pertinent loan programs based on expressed financial needs.

Obtains and analyzes pertinent financial and credit data.

Analyzes current pricing options and loan programs to provide accurate and timely information to borrowers.

Negotiates terms and conditions of loans with applicants.

Acts as liaison between borrowers, other bank employees, outside entities (realtors, title and escrow offices, etc.) as well as other department staff to facilitate a prompt and efficient closing of each loan.

Mortgage Loan Compliance

Transacts business in conformance with state and federal regulations such as, but not limited to, RESPA, HMDA, and Fair Lending Practices.

Keeps informed of the changing rules and regulations pertaining to both private and government-insured mortgages.

Consistently works in accordance with published department sales and service standards.

Maintains benchmark of less than 5% error ratio as documented through Quality Control reports, Internal Audits, External Audits, and Regulatory Examinations.

Is responsible for understanding and following the applicable laws and regulations for job responsibilities including but not limited to Equity Bank Business Ethic and Conduct Policy, Bank Secrecy Act, Information Security, and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Skills & Education

High school diploma required; Bachelors degree preferred

At least 7 consecutive years in a mortgage loan originator role and actively working in that role

Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner

Computer skills, especially the ability to work in Windows based systems. Encompass experience preferred.

Maintain a working understanding of and comply with banking regulations, bank policies, and procedures.

Predominantly self-source mortgage business rather than internal referrals or call center activity.

Fluency in Spanish language a plus.
