In this Controller role, you will be responsible for managing processes to ensure models are accurate and fully accrued on a monthly basis, and holding operations team accountable that end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting, and related financial controls are operating at an effective rate. Located in Overland Park, Kansas, this Controller position will be a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity.
What you get to do every day
Obtain understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
Achieve understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
Work closely with Treasury to provide timely cash flow forecasts
Supervise reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes and tools for the accountable programs
Engage with various business partners for various program controllership and FP& A activities such as ensuring accuracy of accrual models, appropriate accounting and true-up activities and answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers
Organize evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs in order to support SOX controls
Analyze and observe controls to ensure they are effectively designed and operating in partnership with compliance
Ongoing review of actual spend against budget and direct necessary actions needed for any expected shortfalls Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
- CPA and/or CMA preferred
Solid understanding of GAAP Accounting
Foundational knowledge in Financial Close Process
Command of US GAAP
Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
Proficiency in Monthly Financial Close
Demonstrated ability to manage, lead change, and build process improvements
Aptitude for communication and negotiation, building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers
Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, strong analytical and communication skills as well
Professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance
Capable of working in office and accounting computer systems
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership across finance team by engaging with different groups around the world via virtual communication
Working knowledge of ERP system
