POSITION TITLE: Special Education Teacher, OHS
REPORTS TO: Building Principal, Director of Special Programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in special education or related field
Valid teaching certificate with special education endorsement
Certified in either Strat II LD/BD or Strat II ID
Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
Experience developing and implementing IEPs
Ability to use specialized instructional techniques
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience and compassion for students with disabilities
Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators and support staff
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
Assess students' needs, strengths, and challenges
Use specialized instructional techniques to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities
Collaborate with other educators and support staff to develop and implement learning strategies and accommodations
Monitor and evaluate student progress, modifying instruction as needed
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to special education
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress
