Microsoft Corporation Director, Executive Security Advisors (EMEA) in Other, Belgium
The Enterprise Cybersecurity Group (ECG) empowers enterprises to confidently move to the cloud and modernize their platforms by delivering the security solutions, expertise and services needed to keep their data safe. ECG is looking for a passionate, experienced and credible security strategist and thought leader to oversee and manage the operations of the team of Executive Security Advisors (ESAs) located in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) time zone. ESAs are senior cybersecurity experts who are responsible for assisting Microsoft’s customers develop and execute on modern security strategies and for positioning & evangelizing Microsoft as principal thought leader for cybersecurity within region.
The person will be primarily responsible for aligning and mobilizing the EMEA ESAs to deliver against the ECG’s cybersecurity growth priorities. He or she will mentor ESAs by providing expert consulting on sensitive relationship and technology issues, identify and align resources to drive sales & consumption, help the team resolve cybersecurity blockers in strategic accounts, and engage directly with subsidiary/district leadership and account teams to segment and prioritize the business. In addition to managing a team of cybersecurity experts, the person will also be responsible for regularly engaging with the security industry through public speaking, standards development, and advanced research and will directly support ECG sellers in the pursuit of key business priorities within the region for the largest and most complex customers.
A significant proportion of the role involves delivering executive briefings and working at the C-level with both public and private sector organizations, candidates should be able to demonstrate experience and success in these areas, especially within both large and highly regulated environments.
Candidates will need to have previous management experience, deep and broad knowledge of security and compliance issues & trends, be politically astute, and be able to articulate the high-level Microsoft security and compliance strategy. Candidates should be customer-obsessed and have experience working effectively and in cooperation with cybersecurity sellers to deliver success. It is envisioned that the role will involve up to 50% travel, with travel occurring in the EMEA time zone. Successful candidates will work closely with ECG Sales Team personnel, the ECG service delivery teams, local sales & services account teams, public sector and industry teams, legal and corporate affairs, product engineering, and the Digital Crimes Unit and Cyber Defense Operations Center to pursue corporate priorities.

Experience and direct responsibility for developing modern security strategies for companies and/or governments and for overseeing the implementation and execution of said strategies, including strategies for securing cloud workloads (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
Deep understanding of security controls at the systems, network, and application level. Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2/3 audit, FedRamp, HIPAA, GDPR, and risk management experience (e.g., ENISA)
Broad information security competency, covering access control, network security, SDL, cryptography, key management, hardware security modules, security architecture and design, operations security, legal/risk/compliance, and physical security
Five plus years of experience effectively leading senior cybersecurity experts
Deep competitive knowledge and a thorough understanding of leveraging cybersecurity thought leadership to drive winning sales strategies
Strategic leadership combined with strong ability to execute and drive for results in an ambiguous environment
Executive maturity - ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior leaders both within customers and MSFT, up to and including C-level executives
Well-developed ability to influence without authority to drive change
Ability to step into and take control of highly competitive and tense situations
Strong oral & written communication skills, strong influencing skills, experience in public speaking to large and small audiences.
Experienced & credible communicator who can cast security in the language of the business, discussing Microsoft’s security strategy to C-level executives and senior government representatives.
Deep and broad knowledge of security issues & trends, able to articulate the high-level Microsoft security strategy to both technical & non-technical audiences
Experience delivering on thought leadership projects and programs
Expert knowledge on cyber threats, regulations, and emerging technologies
CISSP certification (or ability to become certified within one year of employment)
Able to meet the travel requirements of the role
