If yes, then the M365 Substrate Platform team is just the place for you. The Substrate Platform team is tasked with building products to identify opportunities and drive improvements in the latency, resilience and efficiency of the M365 platform.

We are looking for an experienced Principal Product Manager with passion for technology, operating scaled platform, customer obsession and delivering measurable impact. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of product management, business decisions, and data with high leadership visibility. This position will bring a balanced set of incubation, design, growth engineering, customer focus, and execution skills. The position requires you to drive the platform related efficiencies for the M365 substrate. You will be working with product leaders and architects across the company, with high executive exposure. You will mentor other Product Managers to be the cultural champions and adopt the best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate & Ideate: Understand the workload requirements, evaluate the hardware usageand define strategies to drive efficiencies, by definingthe service and platform requirements.

  • Collaborat ive Leadership : Form deep partnerships and drive the engineering evaluation and execution of identifiedwork across the M365.Establish and manage the regular rhythm of business forums to push for actionable insights for leaders.

  • Data Driven: Drive data-driven decisions based on customer and platform signals, balancing the cost-benefit with a longer-term view. Our Platform is used to power of hundreds of features across Microsoft 365 products, which are used by 100s of millions of users per month.

  • Coach: Mentor other team members to help them to do their best work. Model what it means to excel as a product manager.

  • Be a self-starter, learn quickly with a growth mindset and ability to deal with a lot of ambiguity.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND experience in product/service/project/program management or software development.

  • Experience in working with hardware technologies is preferred.

  • Experience in working with customers to understand their use cases and distill requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Problem-solving skills with technical proficiency and strategic thinking.

  • Ability to innovate at a platform level and drive integrated, end-to-end solutions.

  • Skilled cross divisional relationship building skills and ability to collaborate with partners, ability to pull together technology and expertise across M365, Windows and Azure, to drive clarity across teams and establish long lasting, trusted relationship with partner teams.

  • Ability to drive for results and influence for impact, ability to drive clarity, communicate goals to key stakeholders, and motivate them to execute on time and at a high quality.

  • Proactively identifies problems, proposes solutions, with demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity.

  • Prior experience working on Cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Linux.

  • Ability to work across team boundaries to get things done.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and result oriented.
