Amazon Employee Relations Manager, Global Corporate Employee & Labour Relations, PXT Corporate Employee Relations in Oslo, Norway

The EMEA ER team is looking for a customer-obsessed Employee & Labour Relations (ELR) Manager to join them. ER in EMEA is a tight knit responsive team, passionate about delivering high levels of expertise and pro-active measures to build and sustain Amazon’s corporate diverse, successful, fast-moving businesses.

Key job responsibilities

• Analyzing, diagnosing, designing and revising people programs, policies and practices to sustain positive employee relations

• Actively participating in new and in country expansion projects to:

o influence all employee related decisions

o advise on appropriate strategies to ensure ER risks are mitigated

• Developing and delivering scalable training products to build ER and LR knowledge and skills for managers and HR colleagues across the region

• Working with senior ER EMEA colleagues, and other stakeholders, such as internal and external counsel, to conduct establishment and/or interactions with third parties

• Developing an understanding of the employee engagement levels and drivers in our various locations and support the delivery of initiatives designed to achieve engagement targets aligned to our ER philosophy

• Ensuring stakeholders in EMEA and elsewhere are updated promptly and accurately when ER/LR situations emerge

• Conducting climate assessments in sites requiring them, and ensure all actions resulting from them are recorded and followed up

• Working with the ER team to further develop tracking mechanisms to ensure relevant data and internal and external risk indicators are appropriately flagged and responded to

• Working with HR colleagues and managers who are responsible for liaising with existing works councils to ensure that any potential problems are understood and mitigated, and that such forums work smoothly and promote good employee engagement

• Partnering with HR site managers, business partners and employment counsel to identify and respond to emerging risks

• Partnering with employee relations colleagues across Amazon on LR/ER issues affecting all Amazon businesses

• Monitoring internal and external labour relations trends and submit relevant reports to management

This role reports to the Principal, Employee & Labour Relations and is a hybrid role. The successful candidate will be eligible to work at least 3 days per week in any of our offices in Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen or Stockholm.

Basic Qualifications

• Three years in employee and/or labor relations, functional human resources or labor/employment law

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, law degree, or other specialized training in labor/employee relations a significant plus

• Knowledge of labor relations landscapes across the Nordic Countries and/or specialized knowledge of labor relations landscapes and requirements in at least one of the Nordic Countries

• Danish, Norwich, Swedish and/or Finnish speaker

• Experience in managing employee representative bodies

• Experience coaching, consulting and advising employees and HR & business stakeholders

• Experience facilitating employee listening sessions/focus groups

• Experience designing and delivering training programs

• Strong ability to analyze data, develop and prepare standard and ad hoc reports, and present findings with conclusions, responses, and recommendations to HR and business leaders.

• Technically proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint

• Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, enabling individual to establish partnerships and work collaboratively across management levels and personalities to influence senior leadership, stakeholders, peers and employees at all levels across a large, dispersed organization

• Strong written communication skills and the ability to develop effective executive level messaging, reports and presentations

• Proven problem solving and analytical skills in an ambiguous environment with the capacity to work autonomously to manage competing priorities simultaneously while driving projects to closure

• Experience working with large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to identify root causes, recognize patterns, and develop creative, innovative solutions for complex problems

• Acts with sense of urgency, a bias for action, and with a desire to thrive in a dynamically growing environment

• Highly motivated, confident, resilient, thoughtful, proactive and intellectually curious

• Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate complex, international organizational structures

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion

• Solid knowledge of the employment legislation and Labor relation framework in any of the Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland).
