Cummins Inc. Maintenance Technician in Oshkosh, Wisconsin

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Maintenance Technician 1 to join our team specializing in Facilities for our Cummins Inc. facility in Oshkosh, WI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure Facility Functionality : By performing routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, you’ll help keep the facility running smoothly and efficiently.

  • Address Safety Concerns : Evaluating and addressing immediate operational and safety concerns will contribute to a safer work environment for everyone.

  • Optimize Maintenance Operations : Utilizing software to track, assign, and prioritize maintenance tasks will ensure that both reactive and preventative maintenance work is managed effectively.

  • Maintain Equipment and Tools : Ensuring that tools, materials, and vehicles are in good working order will enhance the reliability and efficiency of maintenance operations.

  • Adapt to Various Conditions : Performing work in a wide variety of conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and moisture, demonstrates your adaptability and commitment to maintaining the facility under all circumstances.

  • Support Inventory Management : Ordering supplies and managing spare parts inventories will ensure that necessary materials are always available for maintenance tasks.

  • Conduct Minor Repairs : Performing minor repairs, such as plumbing, floor repair, and wall patching, will help maintain the facility’s overall condition and appearance.

  • Operate and Maintain Equipment : Operating and maintaining vehicle equipment and powered hand tools will enable you to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Action Oriented : Approach new opportunities and challenges with urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. This proactive attitude will help you tackle tasks efficiently and effectively.

  • Facilities Maintenance : Regularly assess the condition of the facility, including its systems, structures, interiors, exteriors, and grounds. Manage maintenance activities and develop asset management systems for preventative maintenance using criticality analysis and predictive tools.

  • Facilities Operation : Oversee occupant services such as parking, janitorial services, food services, concierge, facility helpdesk, security, and safety. Manage the maintenance contracting process and develop operational plans for temperature control, lighting, equipment replacement, and water treatment.

  • Facility Electrical Technical Skills : Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical distribution systems, buss bars, breaker boxes, motors, and other electrical equipment. Ensure the facility operates properly with reliable lighting and electricity for production activities.

  • Facility HVAC Technical Skills : Troubleshoot, repair, and install heating equipment, boilers, ventilation systems, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and other mechanical equipment. Provide necessary heating or cooling to the facility, people, and production processes.

  • Safety and Compliance : Maintain safe work habits and actions in all tasks. Evaluate work for safety issues, plan projects with safety as a priority, and review preventative work for potential safety hurdles.

  • Effective Communication : Develop and deliver clear communications that address the unique needs of different audiences. This will ensure that everyone involved understands the tasks and objectives.

  • Customer Focus : Build strong relationships with internal and external customers. Deliver solutions that meet their needs and enhance their satisfaction with the facility’s operations.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

Minimal or no work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Works on outdoor maintenance duties such as cutting grass in the summer and shoveling and salting walkways during the winter.

Collects garbage and recyclables throughout the plant and office areas.

General cleaning of restrooms throughout the plant and office areas.

Miscellaneous maintenance duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Compensation:

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
