Oshkosh Corporation Aviation Maintenance Technician in Oshkosh, Wisconsin

THE ROLE:

The Aviation Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing inspections and preventive maintenance on company aircraft(s). Maintain the shop and hangar in a cleanly matter. Perform work by proper use of tools and equipment under the supervision of the Aviation Maintenance Manager or the Director of Aviation.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Repair, inspect and maintain the structural, mechanical, and electronic elements of company aircraft, replace parts, measure wear and assess whether parts need repair or replacement. Assist in cleaning and restocking the aircraft.

  • Uses a wide variety of diagnostic devices, computers, hand operated and mechanical tools to assess and fix aircraft and maintains aircraft standards as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Manufacturers Recommendations, and company policies.

  • Performs pre/post flight maintenance service checks in accordance with company policy. Communicates any discrepancies to the Chief of Maintenance. Ensures company aircraft are maintained safely.

  • Assists with the departure and arrival of company aircraft; moves or tows the aircraft; aids passengers with luggage loading or offloading Maintain the hanger, shop, equipment, and storage area in a clean safe manner. Inspect and maintain GSE equipment as required.

  • Actively participate in the Department SMS program as outlined in the Flight Operations Manual. Will serve as a member of the Safety Committee as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Maintenance or Director of Aviation.

YOUR SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with one (1) or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One (1) year or more of experience in Airframe and Powerplant Ratings.

  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant license

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Physical Demands: Frequent Hearing, Talking, Visual; Occasional Standing, Walking/Running, Sitting, Reaching, Bending/Kneeling, Manual Dexterity, and Lifting/Carrying and Pushing/Pulling up to 50lbs.; Seldom Climbing, Driving, Typing, Fine Dexterity, Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion.
