Hasslen Construction Co. Inc.located at 45 First Street SE Ortonville, MN 56728, (320) 839-2529 is seeking 3 temporary full-time Construction Laborer to work at 45 First Street SE, Ortonville, MN, 56728, East South Dakota nonmetropolitan area from 04/01/2025 to 12/31/2025 to all work completed under the direction of a foreman or more experienced worker. Unload materials from the trucks or the drop-off location and move them manually to the actual job site. Prepare the job site for the placing of concrete by bringing materials to the more skilled workers. Carry forms and/or lumber to the exact places on the jobsite where they will be utilized. Move wet concrete to needed locations in concrete buggies or wheelbarrows. Scrape excess concrete off forms and clean it up. Clean up the job site after the concrete has been poured by taking down (stripping) the forms and disposing of the used lumber and other debris when the concrete is fully set. Place blankets over the concrete while the concrete is setting and taking the blankets off the concrete when the concrete is sufficiently hardened. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs 75 ft. Laborers will travel from the main place of employment to job sites within the area of intended employment. No prior education or experience is required. On the job training will be provided. $24.32/hr. Approx. 40 hours/week, from Monday- Friday. 8:00 am- 5:00 pm. Applicants may be offered higher than the advertised. The wage rate may vary on experience and/or merit.$36.48/hr for overtime. Up to 10 hours of overtime may be available but not guaranteed. All deductions from the worker s paycheck will be made as required by law. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages and pay bi-weekly by check. Any advances will be deducted with the consent of the employee. The employer will provide housing as an option to employees living outside the regular commuting distance. Employees who elect to live in the housing will have an additional $75 deducted bi-weekly from paycheck for rent and utilities. Optional daily transportation will be provided from and to worksite and the employer won t deduct from pay. In the first workweek, the cost of transportation (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be directly reimbursed to every worker. If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. In the first workweek, daily subsistence for travel to the place of employment will be reimbursed at a rate of at least $15.88/day to a maximum of $59.00/day with receipts. Also, workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
