Sanofi Group Senior Scientist - Vaccine in Orlando, Florida
Position Overview :
The Global Immunology Department in Sanofi Pasteur’s R&D organization is seeking a Senior Scientist for its Human Immunology platform, which is in Orlando, FL. This position will serve as a leading member of a research team responsible for performing experimental in vitro and clinical exploratory studies to assess the immunogenicity, reactogenicity, and MoAs of vaccine and drug candidates. The ideal candidate will direct and execute scientific research in alignment with the strategies agreed upon by senior leadership and project teams. Using past scientific experience, the applicant will prepare study plans, perform experiments, analyze data, and compile research reports/slide presentations to meet campus and project objectives. Senior Scientists will be responsible for exhibiting sustained ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness while independently performing critical data analyses and summarizing experimental results into reports and presentations for internal and external use. Qualified candidates will be capable of leading studies, managing projects, and interacting with global project teams. As well, they will be expected to perform a variety of laboratory procedures and train staff in established methods and techniques while maintaining GRP and HSE standards and policies.
General Duties :
Demonstrate an advanced understanding and application of fundamental scientific principles, theories, and concepts when performing experiments that contribute to project goals.
Demonstrate strong wet lab technical proficiency with an ability to problem solve a broad array of experimental protocols.
Perform data analyses, critically interpret results, draw conclusions, and apply results to advance project goals.
Independently prepare experimental study plans and project reports, presentations, publications, and patents.
Critically evaluate relevant literature/protocols with respect to applicable projects.
Actively take part in the training, management (possibly), and professional development of technical staff.
Provide key technical input and implementation strategies that can influence/drive the department’s short- and long-term objectives.
Contribute as a project liaison on global project teams and/or as a project lead on internal site projects.
Assist senior management with program logistics, including management of project timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
Adhere to standard concepts, practices, and procedures consistent with Good Research Practices (GRP) guidelines.
Knowledge and Skill Required :
PhD with 5 years or M.Sc. with 8 years of relevant experience. Degree should be in immunology, cell biology, bioengineering, or a related life science field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of immunology, in vitro model systems, human infectious diseases, host-pathogen interactions, and/or drug development is required.
