NBC Universal Senior Application Engineer, IT Security Operations in Orlando, Florida

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Application Engineer - IT Security Operations will provide vision and leadership globally for IT Security Operations in support of Universal Destinations and Experiences (UDX). The role will work closely with NBCU Cyber and partner organizations at NBCU and across UDX to enable and support Identity and Access Management (IAM) and InfoSec Operations. This role will directly support the development and implementation of UDX Security and Governance strategy and long-range planning (LRP) in support of business objectives and in alignment with NBCUniversal and Comcast policies and LRPs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead development efforts supporting UDX Identity platforms, develop middleware integrations supporting enterprise line of business applications, and build automation supporting role-based access controls.

  • Mentor technical team to lend expertise toward driving solutions. Lead the development of in-depth technical documentation and process training materials in collaboration with internal users and departments.

  • Solve complex technical and integration issues with creative and secure solutions.

  • Identify and communicate key risks and security posture to senior leadership; build effective relationships across UDX business units; mentor junior security engineers and architects; build and contribute to communities of excellence as appropriate.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related technical field required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ Years of demonstrated experience working in a technical area as part of a large team (Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, DevSecOps, Infrastructure, Networking, Cyber Security, Architecture, etc.).

  • In-depth knowledge and experience writing and developing with Java and/or other programing languages.

  • Knowledge and basic understanding of HR and Identity platforms.

  • Experience in large-scale networks, routing protocols, network security components, and identity and access management architectures.

  • Experience producing high quality technical documentation.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with data security and privacy, legal, and regulatory frameworks preferred.
