We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

This role is sits in Florida within the Disney Experiences team and is a Project Hire.

The Senior Data Science Analyst position will be part of the Disney Experience team responsible for running the data to help drive the strategic direction of Supplier Strategic Partnerships and Operations Technology (SPOT) B2B Products. You will also collaborate with the Manager of SPOT Product Solutions; the Senior Data Science Analyst role collaborates with leadership to define end to end data flows and strategies across all data products in SPOT. This position will work across all current SPOT Apps and products spanning SPOT verticals, horizontals and other business units. This role will contribute to SPOT B2B Platform evolution to facilitate the workflow and requests of vendors and 3rd party resources to enable our organization improve guest and cast experiences and build new experiences.

The Senior Data Science Analyst needs a “product driven” approach to understanding the core business, as well as our Disney Experiences business and desire to learn, contribute to the development of SPOT data strategies, identifying high-value improvements and implement tactics that drive faster tools and platforms. You will also implement tests, learn strategies, mining data to find trends, user behaviors and expectations, as well as competitive intelligence to define, prioritize, and implement the SPOT roadmap.

What You’ll Do:

  • Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product improvement.

  • Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.

  • Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.

  • Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.

  • Create predictive models by writing, applying, and testing algorithms.

  • Individuals primarily responsible for work with software tools and platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, Microsoft Excel, basic Tableau, Smartsheet,PowerBI) where data is stored, organized and manipulated to produce charts, tables, or graphs to display data should look to digital or data analytic type roles.

  • Also automates the delivery of reports focusing on creating dashboards and reports to answer non-standard end-user questions.

  • Implementing test and learn strategy to evolve our current processes and platforms including automated testing.

  • Abilty to mine the data and look for trends over time with ability to communicate results that will help SPOT be more proactive rather than reactive.

  • Expected to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment and handles confidential data.

  • Some database management experience is preferred to help define standards and processes to ensure accuracy and accessibility of information assets across our apps and develop guidelines and standards to catalog and maintain data repositories along with the single source of truth.

  • Participate in the implementation of SPOT VEP roadmap by ensuring the development and Solutions teams have a deep understanding of the product objectives and priority.

  • Effectively connect with partners of various levels across Disney Experiences and the broader Disney organization through various mediums (ie. presentations, email, formal/informal meetings).

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of product management or related work experience.

  • Experience with ServiceNow, Smartsheet, PowerBI platforms.

  • Experience working closely with technology, design, project management, business and user experience teams.

  • Shown analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to use hard data and metrics to form assumptions and develop cases.

  • Ability to influence people over whom you do not have direct authority.

  • Must have a strong passion for their work with very high standards for quality and accuracy.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills including an ability to communicate effectively at an executive level.

  • Experience communicating out on Product performance and success of initiatives.

  • Ability to think strategically and drive ideas into action with a willingness to take personal initiative.

  • Shown ability to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through partnerships with others, including the ability to build strong and balanced relationships and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization.

  • Experience identifying, defining, and/or addressing technical, user and business issues in a fast-paced organization.

  • Experience with Agile software development methodology.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in advanced mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or comparable field of study with 5 years' experience

Preferred Education:

  • Master's degree in advanced mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or comparable field of study with 3 years' experience
