NBC Universal Paralegal- Transactional & Real Estate in Orlando, Florida
JOB SUMMARY: The Paralegal is responsible for supporting the transactional/ real estate team by assisting with title and other real estate matters as described in more detail below.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist attorneys with land use and real estate development matters, compliance requirements, and contractual obligations.
Prepare and maintain department tickler systems, checklists, tracking and status reports, and timelines of due dates, deadlines, milestones, contract and insurance policy termination dates, government filings, approvals, and permits, and initiate and follow up on action items.
Perform title and survey reviews for encroachments, easements, assemble closing and title documents, proofing legal descriptions, etc.
Assist attorneys in drafting, reviewing, and revising complex real estate and transactional agreements and contracts, track requested revisions from other reviewing parties and bring any provisions requiring negotiation to an attorney’s attention, and liaise with legal, finance, accounting, and other departments regarding contract issues.
Review and proof easements, deeds, and other documents.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Associate’s degree (AA) and/or a Paralegal Certificate are preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in lieu of an AA and Paralegal Certificate is acceptable.
EXPERIENCE: 2+ years’ corporate legal or law firm experience required; 3+ years preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Must be able to work in a high-paced environment handling multiple tasks at the same time; and must maintain confidentiality of projects, legal, and business information at all times.
