This role requires an individual with multitasking, organization and customer service abilities. Performs clinical and administrative procedures as needed. Demonstrates positive attitude and communicates professionally.

As Medical Assistant you will perform general MA duties, including allergy skin test and preparation of custom allergy serums and injections. Assist medical providers with necessary clinical duties.

• Interview patients and document basic medical history and measure their vital signs, weight, and height;
• Collect blood and other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing;
• Perform allergy skin test and the ability to interpret and report allergy skin results;
• Operates electrocardiogram (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests;
• Prepare exam rooms for patient examinations;
• Complete weekly inventory and order medical supplies and materials;
• Follow all OSHA and Safety requirements.

As Referral Coordinator, main responsibility is to coordinate, schedule and obtain authorizations for patient external appointments, for specialty or ancillary care, as requested by the primary care providers.

Qualifications and Skills

• MA Diploma and/or Certification;
• Prefer 1 - 2 years working experience as an MA;
• Current certification in AHA Basic Life Support required;
• Knowledge of medical center procedures;
• Time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work;
• Written and verbal communication skills;
• Organizational and planning skills;
• The ability to speak proficiently in English. Bilingual is a plus (Spanish and/or Creole)
• Must be willing to undergo Level II Background Screening

Expected hours: No more than 35 per week

Starting pay $15.00 and is negotiable, based on experience.
