Siemens Energy Mechanical Engineer in Orlando, Florida
A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)
This is a generator engineering position that involves the mechanical analysis/design of generator components to implement generator cooler and auxiliaries orders, support field service activities, and resolve product issues for operating generators. The position strongly emphasizes organizational change!
You will support the Generator Service Engineering team, as well as the broader Generator Engineering organization, in tasks consisting mainly of order execution, negotiations, and R&D.
How You’ll Make an Impact (position overview)
Perform mechanical evaluations for coolers and auxiliaries to verify adequate performance during operation
Thermal and mechanical analysis, crafting production drawings, participating as members of coordinated project teams, and as such interacting with the manufacturing, supply management, new unit engineering, and order management, customers, and suppliers
Support the design and product definition for Stator modernization projects
Contribute to team efforts to provide accurate and timely support for tendering activities
Design and development of new products and services and technical support of market introduction activities
Development and maintenance of quality initiatives in support of department targets and scope
Support and empower organizational change initiatives within our organization
What You Bring (requirements)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering
Strong emphasis and curiosity about understanding and applying engineering concepts
Understanding of design, analysis, and/or maintenance of turbogenerators preferred
Self-motivated, passionate about achieving goals, possess a strategic attitude, and work optimally in a team environment
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
