Position Overview

  • The Material & Inventory Control Manager is responsible for facilitating an optimal inventory control process for all wind farms under SGRE service portfolio, ranging from +100 sites across North America. One of its primary functions is to develop and manage the yearly inventory count schedule, adjust priorities aligned with business needs and analyze variances leading to final reconciliation for the wind farms and tangible action plans to eliminate root causes to improve subsequent inventory count accuracy.

  • The selected candidate is required to be a team player with strong leadership skills and will work in constant collaboration with site management, project management, order management, finance, and a team of approximately 14 materials & inventory control management specialists distributed across the country. The position requires some travel within North America. The role reports into the centralized Resource Management and Planning organization.

  • Relocation may be offered for this role should it be necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the inventory control process for over $80M worth of inventory distributed across 130 wind farms across North America

  • Monitor new sites and end of contracts and ensure smooth transition

  • Manage a team of 14 inventory professionals and align the sites inventory count schedule with business priorities, ensuring SGRE meets its contractual requirements.

  • Establish action plans in conjunction with Operations Management for high deviation sites and root cause resolution.

  • Establish team Roles and Responsibilities and enforce standardization

  • Application of Lean Principles for warehouse operations

  • Work on developing and establishing cross functional processes that allow more efficient management of site inventory control and accuracy

  • Escalate issues to management for high impact issues affecting site inventory, urgent orders affecting downtime, amongst others.

  • Enforce processes and procedures with MM, Ops and SPS

  • Comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements of the Company.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Knowledge, Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Coursework in inventory, planning, engineering, logistics preferred.

  • 5+ years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

  • Strong Microsoft office skills with emphasis on Excel and managing large data sets

  • Experience in data visualization and presenting conclusions based on large data sets

  • Strong leadership and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork skills, including willingness and ability to consult with subject matter experts from engineering, order management and other team members.

  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software systems

  • Applicants must be proficient in English

  • Position could be up to 25% travel.

    Preferred Knowledge, Experience and Skills    

  • Previous experience with inventory management software such as SAP

  • Lean Six Sigma training
