In this role, you will manage a team of technical project managers responsible for executing project health assessments, consolidating timelines and action items, and creating compelling presentations that efficiently communicate project cost, status, and value. You will also deliver sophisticated software development projects, working with internal teams across multiple disciplines, partners, and vendors. This position requires a solid background in leading local and remote project managers, good communication skills, and an ability to drive successful project outcomes.
This is an on-site position that sits primarily in Orlando, Florida within the Disney Experiences, Technology & Digital team and it reports to the Sr Manager, Project & Program Management.
What You'll Do:
Lead, support and mentor project managers in the delivery of project tasks and technology solutions to meet business expectations, timeline, and budgetary requirements.
Lead large development programs and teams that comprise of many components from ideation through implementation.
Lead meetings, ensuring active participation with clear and precise communication, while detailing thorough post-meeting follow-up on action items.
Lead project managers to maintain comprehensive and accurate record of all projects’ financial transactions, decisions, and key events
Monitor project scopes against timelines and budgets.
Ensure all risks, action-items, issues, and decisions are documented, consolidated, tracked, and addressed in a timely manner.
Build impactful presentations and data visualizations that highlight project vital signs and value drivers.
Ensure optimized resource allocation across projects, ensuring efficient utilization of time and budget.
Prepare project financial reports and present findings to partners and executives
Conduct comprehensive assessments of project health: technical, financial, and operational; identifying potential risks, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
Escalate key issues and risks to ensure timely resolution and mitigation
Act as a lead liaison between project teams and executive leadership; ensuring visibility and alignment with strategic objectives
Clearly communicate project achievements, financial implications, and overall project impact to partners at all levels
Use data visualization techniques to present sophisticated information in a clear and concise manner
Required Qualifications & Skills :
Minimum of 8 years of experience managing a team to successfully complete delivery of technology projects.
Minimum of 5 years leading resources and/or project teams with diverse skills
Direct management and accountability for single project budgets of $10M to $50M
Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal) and time management skills with attention to detail.
Experience leading multiple and simultaneous projects, with a focus on project finance and health assessment, and timeline consolidation.
Advanced skills in project management tools and software, such as MS Planner, MS Project, MS Excel, Jira, SmartSheet, and MyPPM is required
Minimum of 3 years of Agile delivery experience
Required Education :
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications :
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus
Certified Scrum Master
